Curriculum Information
We support learners to develop skills in five key areas, i.e., life skills, community skills, self-care skills, creative skills and academic skills (what we do). Within these 5 areas, we maintain a more detailed list of specific learning outcomes that we tailor with the learner, caregivers and commissioners to create a learning plan and track progress.
Over induction, learners rate their confidence against the skills lists to gain a baseline and to facilitate conversations around target-setting, desired next steps and areas of confidence and for development. Bespoke goals are set through this learner self-rating of skills lists and other exploratory discussions during induction. Personalised skills development plans are designed based on individual aptitudes, interests and challenges.
Confidence and goal setting are reviewed termly in collaboration with learners. Reviewing skills identified for development (from no or partial knowledge) towards proficiency highlight progress to the learner. This information is also shared with commissioners and caregivers in termly reports.
For tutored placements we deliver Functional Skills EL1-L2 English and maths. We can also support a learning programme at KS3 or KS4.
